About this deal

Liv Varanakis doesn’t have a lot of fond memories of her father, which makes sense—he fled to Greece when she was only eight. Dax started to say something, but luckily, a blur of lululemon activewear suddenly appeared in the driveway next to us, stopping the oncoming inquisition I knew was about to happen. Let me just say that meeting your father for the first time after years of feeling like some moldy bread that they decided to throw out, is probably the closest I've felt to wanting to kill someone else while also wanting to jump into the nearest body of water just so I wouldn't have to face the agony of having a civil conversation. Liv has branded herself as a “perfect” person, one who’s popular and pretty and has a perfect boyfriend.

If Welch had invested more time on that instead of the half-hearted attempts to create some romance, this would be a different review entirely. FTC Full Disclosure: I did not receive money or Girl Scout cookies of any kind (not even the gross cranberry ones) for writing this review. Luckily, once in Santorini, Greece, Liv and her dad have everyone on the island as a buffer- especially the attractive camera man and friend also on the project, Theo.inspired tale about a teen girl finding romance while trying to connect with her absent father in beautiful Santorini, Greece. However, as the summer progresses and Liv takes a more active role in the documentary, she slowly starts to get to know her father and comes to love Santorini and its welcoming community.

When I’d transformed from Olive to Liv, I’d scoured hundreds of style videos before finally landing on the ones that I thought I might be able to pull off—French-girl style. Her long black hair was in a sleek ponytail, and she held a straining Labrador retriever by its leash. There's very little content of concern, but at over 500 pages it's best for strongly independent readers who can handle the theme of parental abandonment. YA has unfortunately just not been meshing well with me recently and maybe that contributed to my feelings! It was nice to see cameos of different characters, but I couldn’t help but see how Love and Olives was literally a carbon copy of Love and Gelato. The writing was absolutely amazing, i felt like i was literally in Greece while reading about the descriptions of the locations in this book.

While he was my main issue, his reasons were the only thing that kept me turning those pages, because I still wanted to know.Liv is my favorite protagonist, combined with the Atlantis lore and the documentary aspect, makes this a near perfect book for me. She’s not eager to help him when he sends a postcard and a plane ticket for her to come “help him” the summer before her senior year, but her mother insists. It wasn’t really a contemporary romance, it was more like a contemporary that had a romance element to it. When she isn’t writing girl abroad stories, Jenna can be found chasing her children or making elaborate messes in the kitchen.
