I dislike the top notes of this because it got that vintage style to it but after a couple of minutes the vintage is GONE, and it will smell much better, I like how leathery it smells. I am not saying here, I hasten to add, that this Bottega Venetta is only comparable to an ultra-cheapy - it most certainly isn't - it's a fine perfume indeed that I wore recently and got a sincere (and ordinary) compliment for. BUT something happened to my skin chemistry and I just cannot wear anything leathery anymore, both this and Serge Lutens Daim Blond now get really animalic and acrid on me. And, other than the rather thick jasmine/floral heartnotes, I see no reason why a man could not wear this scent.
